Results for Sustainable Lifestyle Challenge 2017
The Sustainable Lifestyle Challenge 2017 is jointly organised by the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), National Environment Agency (NEA), South East Community Development Council (SECDC) and supported by Ascendas-Singbridge Gives Foundation. This competition aims to create awareness among our youths on the global environmental challenges and to engage them in consciously reducing waste generated (in their living environment) through a changed lifestyle.
The 2017’s theme was “Create a Sustainable Lifestyle in your school.”
A total of 53 teams from Primary, Secondary and ITE participated in this challenge and the top 3 winners’ project submission from each category were displayed at Heartbeat@Bedok during South East Clean & Green Singapore Carnival 2017 on 11 & 12 Nov 2017.
All prizes are sponsored by Ascendas-Singbridge Give Foundation.

Project: Created a book of activities to educate people on ways to re-use or recycle paper.

Project: By feeding the earthworms with the collected fruit/vegetable scraps collected from canteens, the worm castings can be used as fertilizers for the plants in their campus. They have also created their own self-feeding tubes to ease the feeding of the earthworms.

Project: Created a prototype to show the recycling of waste water from washing machine to the toilet bowl.

Project: Making use of leftover coffee grounds, by adding mayonnaise to them to create hand scrubs.
