Ms Karen Loh Qi Zhuang, Lecturer, Electronics Engineering, ITE College East was awarded the 2017 NEA EcoFriend Award (Public Sector Category)

A lecturer with 12 years of teaching experience, Ms Loh understands the importance of influencing the younger generation to tackle environmental challenges. She has initiated a series of clean-up operations in ITE College East (ITECE) and groomed students to become litter-free ambassadors. Her dedication has led to collaborations with other educational institutions and public organisations to bring about greater collective action for the environment.

The EcoFriend Awards was introduced in 2007 to recognise environmentally-proactive individuals in Singapore who have contributed significantly to environmental sustainability. By spotlighting them, we hope to be able to drive home the point that individuals can make a positive and enduring difference to our environment. The EcoFriend Awards is open to all individuals residing in Singapore for at least the past six months.
