Syaiful Hakim Bin Muslim, Lecturer from School of Engineering from ITE College East is the recipient for the Community in Bloom (CIB) Ambassador Award 2016. This award seeks to recognise the contributions of deserving individuals in the national gardening movement.

“This award does not only belong to me”, cited Syaiful Hakim Bin Muslim. “but also my colleagues who had been tirelessly inculcating the joy of gardening and landscaping to the students. We hope to inspire them to build a greener Singapore.”

Syaiful Hakim Bin Muslim not only aspire to instil the passion of gardening among students but also to equip them to be professionals for the landscape industry. He envisioned to transform the landscape industry workforce with a group of well-trained local workforce.

As he continues engaging the community, he hopes to broaden the perspective of education in ITE and at the same time gain more enthusiasts in this field.

To Syaiful Hakim, gardening is more than just a hobby. It is a philosophy of being environmental-friendly, creating gardens of beauty, sustenance and biodiversity, and providing habitats for our native fauna.
