Project Twinkle, a recycling drive involving Electronic Waste (eWaste) & Used Beverage Cartons was initiated in 2015. This is in collaboration with Food From The Heart (FFTH), Tetra Pak Asia, IKEA, Pokka Drinks andKolam Ayer Community Centre. 130 staff and students from ITE College East/School of Engineering volunteered for this community initiatives and outreach.  Ikea matched the collected eWaste with furniture for the beneficiaries of FTTH.

A follow up to Project Twinkle, the IKEA Furniture Delivery, was completed from 19 – 20th Jan 2016 by students and staff of the Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Clusters. This project befitted 40 FTTH beneficiaries residing in Woodlands, Boon Lay, Jurong West, Teck Whye, Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Batok, Commonwealth, Ang Mo Kio, Lengkok Bahru, Sembawang, Bedok, Chai Chee, Circuit Road, Yishun, Sengkang, Hougang and Pasir Ris.

Ikea presented each of these residents with a set of furniture which included a study table, study chair and a table lamp. The team of volunteers from ITE and Ikea collected the furniture; assembled them at the respective recipient’s premises and hand-over the furniture to their new satisfied owner.
